End-to-End Drobotics Solutions
TDS Labs specialises in the design, procurement, engineering and manufacturing of customised drobotics (drone robotics) solutions.
From airframes and avionics to 3D printing and development of complex payloads, TDS controls the entire engineering process from start to finish.
WHO IS ENGINEERING AS A SERVICE FOR?
NEW PROJECTS
Custom manufacture a drone that solves are specific problem for your business.
REDESIGN
We can help reconfigure existing designs or hardware.
CONSULTATION
Consultation to help you with an existing project or conceptualise a new one.
OUR EXPERTISE
We collaborate with clients to understand technical specifications and gain an understanding of the current situation. We perform thorough analysis and feasibility studies with our engineering team to understand the scope of what’s required.
We design and customise drones or engineering systems tailored to project needs using specialised hard and software such as 3D printing software, CAD design software, Arduino IDE, Pixhawk, and others as required for specific cases.
Our metal fabrication arm enables us to create custom parts and hardware tailored to our clients’ unique needs. For example, we patented and manufactured a metal tripod specifically designed for installing prisms in open pit mines. This in-house capability also provides us with the flexibility to sell hardware directly to our customers when it is the most suitable option.
Access to a high-quality 3D printer enables us to customise drones and their components to meet each client’s unique needs. This capability allows us to prototype designs in-house, eliminating the need to rely on external distributors and manufacturers.
Past Project Onix
The TDS Onix was designed to remotely install monitoring prisms in open cut mines so that personnel didn’t have to abseil down pit walls.
Past Project Vhagar
Developed to remotely execute fuel reduction burns to assist private and public landowners manage the threat of wildfires.
Past Project Flying Fox
Flying Fox was engineered to streamline a tedious and often dangerous manual process of installing aerial markers on overhead lines.

Our Process
How we engineer our drones
We design not only durable, high-performance drones but also using CAD software, simple assembly, and lightweight materials for optimal performance.
MECHANICAL
We design aerodynamically efficient drones (Small- Medium-Large), optimizing flight dynamics with software and rigorous testing, ensuring CASA compliance and efficient maintenance.
Aeronautical
We engineer sophisticated avionics systems, ensuring precise navigation, communication, and control for seamless drone operations.

JOHAN VAN JAARSFELD (LINKEDIN POST) | BHP (MINING)
Our iron ore team in Western Australia is using TDS’ advanced drone technology to keep our frontline teams safe and out of high-risk situations. By designing the tripod structure and a customised release mechanism, the drones can now install reflective monitoring prisms across our operations safely from a distance.
ZACHARY CORBETT - GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER, SAVAGE RIVER | GRANGE RESOURCES
“We at Grange Resources pride ourselves with our long-lasting connection with TDS. We have engaged services with TDS for many years now and have facilitated the development of the prism installation drone technology that is now conducted regularly by TDS.”
TRANSGRID
Our construction partner Elecnor Australia, along with subcontractors Timco Transmission Lines and Taz Drone Solutions has successfully used drones to string the 24km transmission line connecting Buronga, NSW to Red Cliffs, Victoria. – TransGrid (LinkedIn post)
